The aims of the Town Ambassadors are to:
- Support the growth of independent businesses through
the promotion of their products and services - Facilitate the best possible visitor experience through information and signposting
- Promote the town by supporting and advertising local
events, attractions, its history and sport

To support these aims, the voluntary Town Ambassadors have an office in Bishop Auckland and are visible in the Community.
Most are WorldHost trained and provide people visiting Bishop Auckland with information and directions.
We are regularly in Bishop Auckland on a Thursday and help promote new business openings; distribute information;
and support public events during other times in the week. As visitor numbers start to increase, we will in
the Town Centre more frequently so that we can help visitors make the most of their time in Bishop Auckland.
